About me...

My name is Brandon Cook, and I am a Christian.

I believe in being bold in my faith and identity, and I believe in living my life in such a way as to bring glory and honor to God, which is what this blog is all about. Being a Christian is not a religion to me, it's a lifestyle; modeled after the life that Jesus Christ presented to us over 2,000 years ago.

I  am very happily, and at times un-believably, married to the most amazing woman the world has ever known, Rebecca Cook. Never have I ever known of any person so wonderful, beautiful, or amazing as her, and I live my daily life honored as her husband. I am a romantic at heart, but not a hopeless one as the cliche goes... and my marriage is pure evidence. Becca and I share a True love, borne of God, there is no doubt... and I could literally go on about the goodness and wonders of our love and even just her forever...

My darling wife is also pregnant with our daughter, the little Cookie, Alizah Katherine. So another tab of my life is beginning to unfold as a proud Daddy. It's amazing to think about... how God has brought about this amazing miracle of life and chosen Becca and I to be tools to bring it about. Becca has only gained more awe in my eyes in the way she has carried our child and carried the burdens that pregnancy can bring. We are both beyond ecstatic for the future that parenthood will bring.

I love being expressive in the artistic gifts and talents that God has blessed me with, especially in music. I have been playing guitar since I was about 15 years old, and I have been writing my own music almost as long. I have big hopes and dreams to see these gifts used in large-scale ways as a form of worship ministry in the Church, especially with the youth and young-adults. My heart's hope is that this blog can be a vessel to extend the blessings that God releases through the worship He allows me to create; that you, the reader, would be blessed and encouraged by Him, through His Spirit in me.

God has given me such a heart for young people, to see them set free and to be used mightily in His Kingdom, and my wife shares and expands that vision with me. Another part of my vision and desire for this blog is to be an example, specifically, to young people with my life. Becca and  I are committed to going and doing whatever the Lord leads us to do with excellence and love, no matter what the season. I am not afraid to be real about life, it's messy and ugly a lot more often than most of us are probably willing to admit. But it's not about looking at how bad things may become, but rather it's about allowing Jesus to shine through it all, with humility and grace, putting Him first because He put us first.
